‘Shi Shi Beach Life’ by Diane K. Hewitt

This oil painting was inspired by a beautiful photograph that I saw taken by esteemed nature, landscape and seascape photographer, Nevin Sarma. The location for this particular scene was on the Western Olympic Coast in the State of Washington. According to Mr. Sarma, the area was “only accessible during low tide” at which time “…the coast was filled with life: kelp, sea anemones, and starfish among others.”
