Pastel From 4x4 Oil by Marsha Hamby Savage

Yesterday, I painted a pastel on a 6"x8" panel I created by painting pumice gel on a Raymar Feather Lite panel which was meant for oils. I created this painted using the image I showed you yesterday of the little 4"x4" oil painting -- which it came from a sketch. So, you could call this a third generation of an image! I did a little watercolor wash underpainting before putting the pastel on the board.

Here is the oil so you can compare what I did!

The board has a very rough surface when you create your own with the pumice gel. I could sand it and continue adding layers of pumice, but I really like the roughness ... I think it adds character.
