This magnificent southern live oak tree (that you see here in my painting) used to hang over the Chattahoochee River and grace all who passed by. Over the years, I've had the privilege of rendering my impression of this tree on canvas. Last year, the parks department must have felt that the decay in the tree had taken its toll and they had it cut down. I miss this tree. I used to sit on the bench underneath its canopy and watch the river swiftly flow by. I'm so glad I have the photos to refer to whenever I feel the urge to paint a memory.
This 30"x40" acrylic painting on canvas is titled, "The Hastening Tree". The original hangs in my personal collection, but it's available to purchase in a limited edition giclee. To contact me, please
