"To The Marsh" by Diane K. Hewitt
This painting was started “en plein air” at Amelia Island Plantation in Florida. But, unfortunately, the day got away from me because I started too late in the day. So, I took it back to the studio, and added a few touches. The most difficult part for me was capturing the feel of the hanging moss, so predominate in much of the low country's oak trees. It seemed to change colors in the variations of light. The lone Great White Heron stood in the marsh throughout most of my visit, totally undisturbed by my presence. I hope you enjoy the view.
