Cool Sumac was painted from a pastel painting as a demonstration for a workshop I was teaching in Dawsonville, GA. The scene is from the Blue Ridge, GA area and a location I paint plein air several times each year. This is a favorite subject of mine ... trees or bushes with multiple trunks!
