People sometimes ask where I find my subjects, especially the horses. I simply drive around my neighborhood! I feel fortunate to live in a rural area dotted with farms and ranches. I always have a small camera with me that has a long telephoto feature. This particular beauty lives down the street.

The painting is on panel and varnished with epoxy resin, the equivalent of 50 coats of regular varnish. The result is a glass-like finish that is very clear and shows every brushstroke, enhances the color, and makes the painting look like it was just painted.
